Festival rules

Please help the festival by remaining vigilant to fire safety to protect yourself and others and kindly observe the following rules & regulations whilst on site which apply to the main festival area as well as car parks and campsites:

  • Vehicle access to the festival area is strictly on display of a valid parking pass, which will be sent to you in advance.
  • Camping is permitted in tents or campervans only. Caravans and other such vehicles will not be allowed onto the site.
  • Cars cannot  be parked alongside tents or enter the campsite at any time. Assistance will be available if you need help to get to your tent.
  • Cars will be parked in the designated car parks when entering the grounds and must not be moved during the course of the weekend.
  • Only purpose-built campervans will be permitted in the campervan area – modified trailers, estate cars, vans and any other vehicles not designed with in-built sleeping facilities will not be allowed access to the campervan area even if you have booked a campervan permit.
  • You must notify us in advance of your arrival if you require a pitch in excess of 8m x 5m for your campervan.
  • Stewards will guide campervans in position, please follow their direction and keep fire lanes clear.
  • Once your campervan is in place, it must remain static. Anyone found moving a vehicle may be asked to leave.
  • Sleeping in vehicles overnight is not permitted and you may be asked to leave if doing so.
  • Camping pitches must be pre-booked with our accommodation partner Hotel Bell Tent. You will then be allocated a pitch upon arrival at the festival. 
  • The use of naked flames, including BBQs, open fires, fire lanterns and camping stoves is strictly forbidden at any time.
  • Glassware is not permitted anywhere onsite. 
  • Please use the bins and recycling points provided. All litter must be cleared from your camping pitch and put into bins provided or taken home with you.
  • Restricted items include knives, fireworks or anything similar, drones, gazebos, windbreakers, sound systems and generators.
  • Illegal substances of all kinds are strictly forbidden. 
  • In the event of needing assistance, medical or otherwise, please contact any steward or member of campsite staff who can radio for help.
  • Please ensure your party know the location of all the facilities, including first aid and how to gain help in the event of an emergency.
  • Please also ensure that children know how to find their own tent, particularly if coming back to it in the dark, when many look similar. 
  • We ask that you respect the privacy of your fellow campers and understand that young children may go to bed earlier so please try to avoid unnecessary noise.
  • No water source should be deemed drinking water unless specifically labelled as such. Drinking water fountains are provided in the camping area and festival site.
  • You are not permitted to bring any alcohol on site or in the camping areas. Random bag checks will be performed at check-in and any items will be confiscated. 
  • There are bars at the event selling a great variety of local beers & quality wines.
  • Dogs or other animals, with the exception of assistance dogs, are not allowed in the campsite or the festival site.
  • Toilet and shower facilities are provided. The use of portable toilets (eg. portaloos) is strictly forbidden. If your campervan contains a portable toilet and you prefer not to use the festival toilets provided you must take your chemical toilet waste home with you. You are NOT permitted to empty chemical toilets in the main festival toilets or anywhere on the festival site.
  • Smoking in the campsite area is only permitted within the designated areas, which are clearly marked.
  • All attendees will be issued with special wristbands. Please ensure your party wear them at all times. 
  • Under 18s will not be admitted without a responsible adult. Adults will only be permitted entry to the festival site when accompanying a child.
  • Do not enter any restricted area or climb any structure including lighting masts, fences and stage. If you are caught doing this you will be asked to leave the Festival
  • Pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, strobe lighting and special effects may take place during evening performances.
  • Lost and Found property is managed on site at the Information points and campsite hubs . Please report all lost items here as soon as you can and check here before leaving site to be reunited with your property if found during the event. All found property should be handed in at these Information points too.
  • Any found items will be kept by Festival of Sport for two weeks after the festival.  After this point, all items will be donated to charity or disposed of safely/securely. All reasonable efforts will be made to reunite the lost item with its owner before this takes place.
  • Despite the organisers taking all reasonable precautions unavoidable accidents can happen when playing sport. In respect of these you are present at your own risk.
  • Festival of Sport is held in an outdoor area. The organisers and the venue owner would like to remind you that the paths and grounds within the event and camping areas may be uneven.
  • Whilst every reasonable effort has been taken to ensure your safety at all times visitors are requested to take care, especially after dark or in muddy or wet conditions.
  • We will be taking photographs and filming this event.  By entering the event you consent to your image being used in any future Festival of Sport promotion.  
  • We reserve the right to refuse admission or to evict any person from Festival of Sport without refund for drunkenness, unruly or anti-social behaviour or for breaking any of these conditions
